Mechanical Integrity Engineer/Tank Inspection Engineer – Tank IntegrityLocation: Remote with travel circa once a month to UK Terminals Salary: £58,000 + 10% Bonus  Outsource UK is recruiting a Tank Inspection Engineer to join an oil/gas storage company on a permanent basis focusing on tank integrity assessments and will support ongoing mechanical integrity efforts across UK-based terminals.This role is critical to ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective management of storage tank assets, particularly in the petrochemical sector.Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct tank integrity assessments, inspections, and evaluations in line with industry best practices and company standards
• Oversee and support the inspection of pipeline system (PS) storage tanks, ensuring compliance with relevant standards (API 653 preferred)
• Collaborate with Terminal Systems (TS) teams currently overseeing TS tank assessments
• Support the development and writing of integrity procedures and standards alongside the Engineering Manager and wider team
• Propose risk-based, cost-effective solutions without compromising safety or compliance
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and global teams

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• 5–10 years of experience in inspection engineering, preferably in the petrochemical or chemical storage industry
• Demonstrated expertise in storage tank inspection and integrity management
• Experience in tank inspections to API 570 standards; API 653 is highly desirable (training can be provided)
• Strong understanding of risk-based inspection approaches and root cause analysis
• Capable of drafting and refining technical procedures and standards related to integrity
• Strategic thinker with a practical mindset – balances cost, safety, and operational needs effectively
