About the Role:

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be essential to maintaining the reliability and safety of our production equipment. You'll carry out mechanical repairs, adjustments, and routine servicing to ensure machinery operates efficiently and downtime is minimised.

• Mechanical Maintenance & RepairsPerform hands-on repairs, adjustments, and servicing of mechanical components across a variety of production equipment.

• Breakdown ResponseRespond promptly to mechanical breakdowns, diagnosing faults and restoring equipment to working order with minimal disruption.

• Preventative MaintenanceCarry out planned maintenance tasks, including inspections, lubrication, and part replacements, to prevent future issues.

• Communication & CoordinationWork closely with machine operators and production supervisors to understand issues, plan maintenance activities, and provide updates on progress.

• Safety & ComplianceEnsure all work is carried out safely, following company procedures and Health & Safety regulations. Establish safe working environments before commencing repairs.

• Equipment Setup & CalibrationSet, align, and calibrate mechanical systems to meet production specifications and ensure optimal performance.

• Record KeepingAccurately log all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections in the relevant systems to support compliance and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For:We are seeking a skilled Fitter that is ideally apprentice trained

Technical Competencies:

• Production Services (e.g., Cranes)
• Bar Production (e.g., Shear Lines)
• Power Bending (e.g., manual and automatic Benders)
• Coil Production (e.g., straightening and decoiling machines)
• Threading & Coupling (e.g., Lenton and Dextra)

• Salary : £33,060.76 (Basic £29,874.09 + shift allowance £3,186.67 )
• Working Hours: Enjoy a balanced work-life with 39 hours per week, working in a 3-shift rotation: Three shift rotation, mornings, afternoons and nights:
• Mornings: 6am to 2pm Mon-Thurs, 6am to 1pm Fri,
• Afternoons: 2pm to 10pm Mon-Thurs, 1pm to 8pm FriNights: 10pm to 6am Mon-Thurs, 8pm to 3am Fri
• Generous Holiday: 24 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays. Earn additional service days with tenure!
