About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance and engineering team. This hands-on role involves building, servicing, and maintaining a wide range of industrial equipment in both workshop and field environments.

Key Responsibilities

Workshop & Field Maintenance

• Build, strip down, inspect, and service mechanical/hydraulic equipment (e.g. paint pumps, blast pots, ventilation systems, high-pressure washers)
• Perform routine maintenance and reactive repairs to rental fleet equipment
• Complete pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) and post-hire assessments

Site Services Support

• Support installation, mobilisation, and demobilisation of equipment on client sites
• Attend breakdowns and perform minor on-site repairs
• Comply with all client site-specific safety protocols

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate service records and inspection logs
• Ensure compliance with PUWER, LOLER, ATEX, and internal quality procedures

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with Rental, Stores, and Engineering teams to coordinate equipment availability
• Report recurring faults or opportunities for equipment/process improvement
• Support mentoring of junior staff and apprentices when needed

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent as a mechanical fitter or maintenance engineer
• Experience working on heavy/industrial equipment
• Competence with hand tools, power tools, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and manuals
• Basic electrical awareness (advantageous)
• Experience in industrial, marine, or offshore environments (preferred)
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
