We’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an innovative company (with excellent benefits!) based in Hook, Hampshire, who operate in the electronics sector.
This role supports the development and adaptation of mechanical solutions across the product range, which includes electrical components, cables, and CCTV. The role provides hands-on experience in product design, testing, and technical documentation.
- Design, create prototyping, and run the testing of mechanical components for (but not exclusive to) medical devices. Use CAD software to create these detailed designs and 2D/3D.
- Collaborate with our manufacturing teams in the UK and Asia to ensure designs are successfully translated into production, addressing any design or process issues that arise during the product development process.
- Support the design and development of products in line with relevant industry regulations, including but not exclusive to ISO 9001 & ISO 13485.
- Support the preparation of technical documentation, including datasheets, manuals, and installation guides.
- Participate in the ongoing optimisation of design processes to enhance product quality, reduce time to-market, and improve cost-efficiency.
- Work closely with the quality management team to ensure products meet and continue to meet during the product lifecycle the customer specifications.
- Work alongside Business Development, Technical Sales, and Operations teams to maximise the Customer Experience (CX) and ensure the smooth integration of mechanical designs and similar engineering processes.
About YOU!
- 1-3 years’ experience in mechanical engineering or product design (placement or industry).
- Proficient in CAD software - Solidworks.
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, such as injection moulding, assembly of electronic components, 3D printing and cleanroom manufacturing.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail and an eagerness to learn.
- A proactive mindset, one that actively looks to improve processes, documentation and has I am here to help attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with international teams and produce document designs effectively to minimise any potential errors due to miscommunication.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in both team and independent based settings.
- Further training or certification in CAD or Design for Manufacture (DfM) is a plus.
- Full UK driving license.
In return, my client will be offering a salary of £30,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience) as well as a performance-related bonus, pension, life assurance & more.
