We are seeking a Dynamic & Versatile Mechanical Design Engineer to join our expanding engineering team. This role is crucial to support the ongoing investment and growth of our Design & Engineering department. The position is office-based with some flexibility in working hours, located in Newport on the Isle of Wight.

Day to Day of the role:

• Design custom products to meet our customers’ specific requirements.
• Validate designs through calculations and finite element analysis.
• Create 2D drawings and 3D files for customer approval.
• Produce detailed 2D drawings and bill of materials for machining and manufacturing processes.
• Provide technical support to customers and collaborate with other departments within the business to resolve technical issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• A recognised technical qualification in mechanical engineering.
• Proven experience in a similar Mechanical Design Engineer role.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software.
• Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
• Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise with customers, sales, production, quality, and suppliers on technical matters.

Advantageous:

• Previous experience with load cells and strain gauge technology.

Minimum Experience/Qualifications:

• Qualified to HNC/Degree level or higher in mechanical engineering.
