Role: Material ControllerLocation: Smethwick West Midlands B66 2NQContract - 6 month initial contract / on going up to £19.68hr PAYE = £37,995 for 37 hrs per week - = £35,000 - £37,995 dependant upon experienceHours = Monday to Friday daysto start asapThis is an exciting opportunity to join our successful material planning team at our clients busy Rail maintenance and service depot and to help them analyse and manage internal and external suppliers, making sure that material planning data is accurate and deal with any material issues that arise during the process.We'll look to you for:* Express delivery needs to Suppliers* Expedite critical material requirements* Co-ordinate and visualise data across multiple sites* Follow up deliveries and ensure the availability of goods for projects* Monitor Supplier's performances KPI's* Participate/lead to Supplier's performances improvement (animation)* Contribute with SC inputs for supplier selection* Internal suppliers: Manage Purchase Requisition flow up to Material Planning documents* External suppliers: Follow up with Sourcing the Purchase Requisition level maturity for launching Material Planning documents* Ensure and update the accuracy of material planning master data (in compliance with stock and logistic constraints)* Create the Material Planning documents (Call-off, Schedule Agreement) & respective Source List* Communicate the Material Planning documents to Suppliers and follow Suppliers confirmation* Analyse Suppliers confirmations vs. needs and evaluate the risk/impact anticipation on production/projects* Identify priorities associated with risk/impact anticipation and set up recovery actions* Analyse and manage MRP exception messages and anticipate supply problems (backlogs, shortages, no demand…).* Maintain delivery dates in ERP* Track missing parts until stock availability* Resolve Receiving issues (overstock, shortage, damage, documentation, etc.)* Analyse and share deliveries performances KPI's with different stakeholders (Internal & External)* Collaborate with Material Planning Management/SDPM to validate worst Suppliers and define appropriate action plan (adapted governance: LSCA, LCA, etc...)* Drive and follow (when involved) Supplier Capacity Assessment* Drive and follow (when involved) Supplier's Light Capability Assessment (LSCA)* Contribute to new business risk assessments and mitigation action plan* Apply APSYS roadmap and standardsAll about youWe value passion and attitude over experience.
