Material Chemist Nanomaterials - Reed : Job Details

• Annual Salary: £48,000p.a - £52,000p.a

Join a leading company in the field of quantum dot technologies for wide-range image sensors. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Nanomaterial Scientist to join our Production Team. This role is based at our facility in Oxford Technology Park and offers the opportunity to contribute to the production of high-performance quantum dot materials for commercial applications.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Quantum Dot Synthesis: Conduct wet-chemistry synthesis of colloidal quantum dots for commercial production, including preparation of manufacturing stations, purification, and packaging.
• Quality Control: Perform comprehensive quality control tests on synthesized quantum dots, including absorption and photoluminescence spectra, quantum yield, TGA, DLS, FTIR, etc.
• Scale-Up Support: Assist in scaling production processes from lab to pilot and commercial scale, ensuring successful implementation of new manufacturing protocols.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all procedures and results. Draft and update technical documentation and production reports.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in chemical synthesis; nanoparticle, quantum dot, organometallic, or inorganic synthesis experience is a strong plus.
• PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Solid knowledge of materials characterization techniques (e.g., UV-Vis-NIR spectroscopy, PL, TGA, FTIR, TEM, SEM).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in multidisciplinary teams.
• Passion for deep-tech innovation and contributing to next-generation semiconductor technologies.
