People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Manual Lathe Turner / Borer (Webster & Bennett) to join our well-established client based in Brownhills, West Midlands on a full-time permanent basis.This is a fantastic opportunity offering an amazing annual salary and room to grow and progress.

Hours of Work

• Full-time, 39 hours per week (day shift). 8am - 5pm 

Salary

• From £16.00 per hour (equivalent annual salary based on hours worked - £32,448)

Day-to-Day Duties

• Operate manual lathes and borers to produce precision components to specification.

• Perform fabrication tasks, including milling.

• Read and interpret technical drawings.

• Safely handle and store materials within the warehouse.

• Carry out routine maintenance on machinery and tools.

• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot production issues.

• Maintain accurate records of completed work and materials used.

• Apply basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during production.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience operating manual lathes and borers.

• Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to interpret technical drawings/specifications.

• Experience in materials handling, tooling, and hand tool use.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good communication skills.

• Proactive approach to problem-solving with strong attention to detail.

Desirable Skills

• Vertical Borer experience.

• 7+ year's experience on manual lathes (preferred).

• Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs).

• Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.

Training

• On-the-job training provided where required.
