Job Description :

Morgan Mckinely is seeking a Management Accountant on a permanent basis to play a pivotal role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving operational efficiency across the business.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, this is a hands-on and varied position where you'll be responsible for preparing and delivering monthly management accounts, overseeing key finance processes, and partnering with senior stakeholders to provide valuable financial insights. You will also support and mentor members of the finance team, contributing to continuous improvement and the company's growth journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present accurate monthly management accounts for senior stakeholders.
  • Deliver balance sheet reconciliations, cashflow management, and forecasting.
  • Oversee month-end processes and Finance KPI reporting.
  • Conduct variance analysis between forecasts and budgets.
  • Oversee payroll to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
  • Monitor fixed asset and capital expenditure reporting.
  • Complete VAT reconciliations and support VAT submissions.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Support year-end accounts, forecasting, and annual budget processes.
  • Drive process improvements and develop finance process guides to support ISO accreditation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and business continuity planning.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and 1-2-1s for finance team members, ensuring effective training and development.
  • Deputise for the Head of Finance or team members as required.
  • Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support the senior leadership team.

What we're looking for

  • Strong background in financial and management accounting.
  • AAT qualification and/or ACCA/CIMA part qualified (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong technical finance knowledge, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience using computer-based accounting systems (Xero advantageous).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships across the business.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks and deadlines while delivering high-quality work.
  • A proactive, adaptable approach with the confidence to partner with senior leadership.
