Management Accountant
- Annual Salary: £43,526 to £46,794 (pro-rata)
- Location: College Finance Department
- Job Type: Part-time (15- 16 hours per week, worked flexibly), Permanent
We are seeking a Management Accountant to play a crucial role in supporting our College Finance Director and leadership teams. This position involves the preparation and analysis of management accounts and internal reports, contributing to both the strategic financial management of the college and its wider educational mission.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts.
- Support budget holders with variance analysis and forecasting.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets.
- Develop internal financial reports and dashboards to aid strategic decision-making.
- Liaise with auditors, funding bodies, and other stakeholders under the guidance of the Finance Director.
- Prepare annual and monthly cash flow forecasts.
- Develop and monitor financial KPIs relevant to the college’s strategic objectives.
- Maintain the College’s Fixed Asset Register.
- Support the Executive Finance Director in preparing the College’s year-end financial accounts.
- Collaborate across departments to support cross-functional projects.
- Participate in staff development and training activities.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for both finance and educational functions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in management accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Confident in producing and interpreting financial data for non-financial stakeholders.
- High level of IT literacy (Excel, accounting software, data visualisation tools).
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Organised, self-motivated, and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete).
