What you'll do:
As a Management Accountant in this thriving organisation based in Trafford Park, you will play an essential role in supporting both the day-to-day running of the finance function and the strategic growth of the business. Your responsibilities will span preparing complete sets of accounts for multiple subsidiaries across Europe, managing complex reconciliations involving different currencies, overseeing statutory reporting requirements in collaboration with external advisors, and providing insightful financial analysis that informs key business decisions.
* Prepare full sets of accounts from end-to-end, including accruals, prepayments, tax calculations, fixed assets management, and lease accounting,
* Maintain detailed fixed asset registers for each company within the group to ensure accurate tracking and compliance.
* Conduct thorough variance analysis of profit and loss statements as well as margin analysis of sales performance across multiple entities.
* Reconcile bank accounts regularly and manage balance sheet control accounts such as PAYE, VAT, wages, stock, and other key areas.
* Prepare and file VAT returns accurately and on time for all relevant jurisdictions.
* Oversee treasury management activities including supplier payments processing, monitoring incoming payments from customers, and maintaining up-to-date cashflow forecasts.
* Manage statutory reporting deadlines across several countries by liaising effectively with third-party advisors when required.
* Run payroll processes efficiently each month, issue payslips promptly to employees, and resolve any payroll-related queries in a timely manner.
* Prepare comprehensive sales reporting and analysis to support commercial decision-making within the business.
* Perform intercompany reconciliations between parent company and subsidiaries operating in multiple currencies to ensure accuracy of group accounts.
* Review aged accounts payable and receivable ledgers regularly to maintain healthy working capital levels.
* Reconcile credit card transactions across various departments ensuring all expenses are accounted for correctly.
What you bring:
To excel as a Management Accountant in this organisation's finance team, you will bring proven experience gained within similar roles where you have been responsible for preparing full sets of accounts independently. Your background should include hands-on involvement with complex reconciliations-ideally spanning multiple entities or currencies-and exposure to statutory reporting requirements.
* Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
* A strong technical understanding of accounting principles
* Excellent organisational skills are necessary to meet tight deadlines
* A proactive attitude combined with a dependable work ethic ensures you can take initiative when faced with new challenges or unfamiliar tasks.
* Effective communication skills allow you to collaborate constructively with colleagues at all levels as well as external advisors or auditors when needed.
* Competence using accounting software packages alongside advanced Excel skills supports your ability to deliver high-quality outputs efficiently.
