• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts for various departments and the wider organisation, adhering to agreed timelines. This includes variance analysis and insightful commentary tailored to different audiences.
• Collaborate with departmental leads throughout the year to review financial performance, enhance reporting, and improve financial understanding.
• Complete and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations in coordination with the transactional finance team.
• Support the Head of Finance in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, financial monitoring, and related commentary.
• Oversee the allocation of departmental costs and ensure accuracy.
• Maintain the integrity of the accounting system, including managing the chart of accounts and archiving historical financial data as needed.
• Provide general support to the finance team as required.
• Work closely with the transactional finance lead to monitor the monthly finance timetable and escalate any issues to the Head of Finance.
• Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns in line with internal policies and UK legislation, following review.
• Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements, including supporting schedules and liaison with external auditors.

What you'll need to succeed

• Finalist or fully qualified with a recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
• Worked within charities/ not-for-profit or any other public sector organisation
