Management Accountant - Reed : Job Details

Reed Accountancy are proud to be working with a growing business in Hull who are recruiting a Management Accountant for a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract. This is a full-time and office-based role where you report into the Financial Controller.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Weekly Tasks:

• Prepare timely and accurate sales reports for local and Group management.
• Collate weekly outlook data to create forecasted Profit and Loss (P&L) reports for the Division.
• Generate daily stock reports.
• Compile weekly manufacturing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and panel production data.
• Assume full responsibility for maintaining the fixed asset register and handling capital expenditure (capex) requests.

Monthly Responsibilities:

• Create a month-end reporting pack for review by the Financial Controller (FC) and Finance Director (FD).
• Reconcile balance sheet controls.
• Ensure that actuals are accurately input into the department’s budget models, including variance analysis.
• Input actual sales and panel dispatch results into monthly forecast files for distribution to the sales team.
• Update the P&L forecast, reconciling it with actuals recorded in the ERP system.

Project Work:

• Gather data for the 2023 Research and Development (R&D) tax claim.
• Analyse VAT recoverable on expenses that have been claimed or not reclaimed.
• Conduct a comprehensive fixed asset verification and review of the fixed asset register.
• Handle any other ad-hoc duties as necessary.
