  • Fixed Term Contract, up to 4 years
  • Starting salary ranges from £39,944 - £46,507 commensurate with qualifications and experience plus 25% Gratuity (taxable) and a Flights & Relocation Package

The Role

You will be working in the accounting team within Government’s Finance function (known as the Treasury) which encompasses the full breadth of core finance functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial planning, budget management, financial forecasting and investment and decision support. You will be responsible for ensuring the provision of a high-quality accounting service that supports the effective and efficient management of government financial resources, within statutory and regulatory guidelines.

You will be responsible for leading on the reporting of high-quality management accounting information and the planning and preparation of the annual budget that supports the effective and efficient management of FIG financial resources. You will act as a business partner to government departments and senior management, providing professional advice and support that complies with financial controls and governance.

The Person

  • The successful applicant will be educated to first degree level
  • CCAB qualification such as a CIMA or CIPFA
  • have at least 3 years’ post qualification experience
  • Strong business partnering skills and ability to effect positive change
  • At least 2 years’ supervisory management experience.
  • Proven exposure to managing budgets and business planning in a financially constrained context is also required.

The Package

  • Fixed Term Contract, up to 4 years
  • Salary Range, basic starting salary ranges from £39,944 - £46,507 commensurate with qualifications and experience
  • Eligibility for a 25% Gratuity, paid upon successful completion of the contract
  • 41 days paid leave, 30 days paid annual leave plus 11 government and public holidays
  • Relocation Allowance, to help with moving costs
  • Flights Package for you and recognised dependents at the beginning and end of contract, and additional annual return flights contingent on the duration of the contract
