Recruit Ins are looking for a Major Loss Surveyor for a global loss adjusters ideally based in the South East of England.As a Major Loss Surveyor you will be report to the head of major loss and be responsible for providing surveyor support to our Lead Adjusters on major losses involving buildings. Whilst the role is regional based on occasion you may be expected to assist outside of area. If of interest, there may also be opportunity to travel and assist in CAT work. Dependant on experience you may be charged with handling a small portfolio of claims in a lead capacity, including subsidence and building guarantee losses.
Major Loss Surveyor Job Role
- Leading and supporting others on the building aspect of major losses
- Completing on site investigations and damage surveys for claims
- Investigating, negotiating and agreeing settlement of claims in a professionalmanner
- Liaising with insured, insurers and brokers to achieve professional and timelyconclusion of claims
- Producing reports in compliance with professional standards and internalguidelines in accordance with agreed timescales
- Actively contribute towards the companies business development programme
- Network, identify and facilitate opportunities for business growth
- Undertaking projects and other ad hoc work as required.
Major Loss Surveyor Skills Required
- Successful candidates must be professionally surveyor qualified and have gained significant experience in the commercial loss adjusting sector, or in allied professions, demonstrating a focus on quality, communication and organisational skills.
- They will have proven capability in negotiation, decision making and problem-solving, coupled with strong stakeholder management.
- An ability to develop strong relationships both internally and externally is imperative.
- Experience of working in a team environment to tight deadlines and a proven, positive reputation in the insurer and broker market would be advantageous.
