We are looking for a Maintenance Manager to join our team.

Kaplan Living Glasgow is looking for a self-motivated Maintenance Manager to join our team at our two student residences based in the west end of Glasgow. The role will be hands-on and responsible for managing and delivering the reactive, statutory, and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes. The role will cover the day-to-day facilities management and maintenance within the residence and will work closely with the Residence Manager to ensure the safety and health of all staff, students, visitors, and contractors.

What you’ll bring to the role

Essential skills/ experience:

  • Qualifications or strong experience working with commercial heating and ventilations systems

  • Experience working with multiple trades

  • Have a proactive flexible approach to carrying out reactive and planned maintenance

  • Have strong customer and client facing experience, with a flexible and friendly approach

  • Experience of working as part of, and managing a small team

  • Experience of working to agreed budgets

  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines

  • Experience of managing contractors and their health and safety

  • Hold a current health and Safety qualification with health and safety experience within a previous role

Desirable:

  • Possess leadership and excellent oral and written communication skills including the proven ability to engage with customers and colleagues alike

  • BIFM qualification/membership

  • IOSH membership

  • Strong IT skills (MS Word, Excel, etc.)

  • Ability to offer flexibility in working hours including out of hours support in an emergency if required
