Maintenance Engineer – Industrial Machinery (Plastics)

?? £43,000 – £48,000 + Overtime + Early Finish Fridays

?? Monday to Friday, 7:30am–4:30pm (1:30pm finish Fridays)

Join a small but established manufacturer in Uckfield supplying plastic parts for HVAC, lighting, and packaging systems. With moulding machines, cutting tools, and presses on-site, this is a hands-on maintenance role ideal for engineers who like variety and ownership.

Role Summary:

•

Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on moulding machines, saws, and fabrication equipment

•

Troubleshoot mechanical faults on motors, belts, pneumatics, and hydraulic units

•

Carry out machine changeovers, daily inspections, and part replacements

•

Suggest and support basic upgrades or layout improvements

•

Liaise with suppliers and log work via maintenance records

What We’re Looking For:

•

Mechanical bias with experience in plastics, tooling, or small-batch production

•

Strong hands-on skills: fault-finding, part fitting, minor fabrications

•

Able to work independently and juggle multiple tasks

•

Relevant mechanical qualification or equivalent experience
