Location: Barnsley, South YorkshireSalary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Shift pattern: 07.00 – 15.30 Monday to Thursday and 06.00 – 14.30 Friday.

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our team and ensure the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment and facilities. This role is vital in maintaining high levels of productivity, safety, and equipment reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a range of mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Support installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Work closely with production teams to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering skills (multi-skilled preferred).
  • Knowledge of PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding/fabrication is advantageous.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
