Locum Senior Housing Lawyer
- Contract Duration: Initial 3 months with the possibility of extension

- Hourly Rate: Up to £65 per hour (umbrella)
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Housing Lawyer to provide expert legal advice and representation for the Council’s Housing Service. This role encompasses a broad scope of responsibilities including conducting cases in County Court, Magistrates Court, and potentially High Court. This position is ideal for a professional with a robust background in housing and homelessness law, looking to impact public service positively.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Advise and assist the Council’s Housing Service on all aspects of Housing and Homelessness law.
- Conduct legal cases in the County Court and Magistrates Court, with potential involvement in High Court cases.
- Undertake your own advocacy, representing the Council in various legal proceedings.
- Provide extensive supervision and potentially manage a team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Maintain a high level of organisation, professionalism, and a conscientious approach to all tasks.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must be an admitted Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives with a current practising certificate entitled to practice in England.
- Extensive working knowledge and experience in Housing Litigation and procedure.
- Proven experience in undertaking your own advocacy.
- Experience in line managing people or providing extensive supervision of others.
- Keen interest in housing law and a drive to excel in a public service legal environment.
- Organised, conscientious, and professional demeanor, with a collaborative and team-oriented working style.
