A 12 month fixed term opportunity has arisen for a Loans operations consultant to join a commercial Loan Operations function, supporting the administration and oversight of syndicated and bilateral lending.
This role is central to managing the lifecycle of complex loan agreements, ensuring accurate execution of Loan & Agency Documentation, and maintaining high standards of operational control.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Administer loan drawdowns, rollovers, repayments, and interest calculations for commercial lending facilities.
- Review and maintain Loan & Agency Documentation to ensure terms are correctly reflected operationally.
- Update internal systems with accurate contractual and financial data, ensuring reconciliation with agency records.
- Liaise with counterparties, arrangers, and clients to resolve discrepancies and manage documentation queries.
- Support compliance and audit processes by maintaining accurate records and audit trails.
- Produce operational and financial reports, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in processes, controls, and system enhancements.
Experience/Background
- Background in loan operations, preferably with exposure to commercial or syndicated lending.
- Understanding of Loan & Agency Documentation and how it translates into operational processes.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with experience reconciling financial transactions.
- Proficiency in financial systems i.e. LOAN IQ
- Clear and confident communication skills for liaising with internal stakeholders and external counterparties.
- Organised, detail-focused, and capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with regulatory obligations in lending and financial markets is advantageous.
