Live-In Personal Care Assistant to a Geography student

We have an amazing opportunity for you to become a Personal Assistant to a university student studying Geography at the University of Manchester.
Start Date: 18th September (training done beforehand)
Location: Uni of Manchester (M13)
Shift Pattern: 7 days on / 7 days off (live in)
Essential that you hold a clean UK Driving Licence
Rate of Pay & Benefits:
Pay: £160 per shift worked
Holidays: 5.6 weeks (pro rata)
On-call support from client coordinator
Bespoke training in the client’s particular requirements will be provided
About our Client
Our client is a Geography student going to the University of Manchester in September. Our client hasDuchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) and will need help with personal care, daily routines,transferring with a hoist and navigating university life.He is a music and football lover - so he is looking for someone who has similar interests and wouldn't mind venturing to gigs, concerts and football matches.

We are looking for a positive, like-minded PA to assist our client with day-to-day living and general support at university with his studies, helping him to lead as independent a life as possible.
Our client would like someone who is supportive and proactive, helping with personal care, socialising, and general tasks. This role goes far beyond simply personal care work, it includes all the fun things you would expect a university student to be doing, like going out, seeing friends, day trips or on holiday, and much more!

“I love going to watch live music – I’ve seen Oasis, Arctic Monkeys, Sam Fender recently. I want to get involved in the music scene in Manchester – both performing and going to gigs.
I am also a big football and Formula 1 fan. I am a season ticket at Brentford (Premier League team in London) so I may occasionally travel back to London to watch a game. I might also go and watch Brentford when they play in Manchester (or nearby).
I think I am friendly and outgoing and enjoy hanging out with friends. I hope to make the most of many social opportunities at university. I am very close to my family (I have 2 younger sisters) and will travel back to London to stay with them during non-term time."
Care experience is not required as full training in our client's particular requirements will be provided.
