Job Description :

A unique opportunity has arisen for a Legal Director (Employment Health) to join our clients' award-winning international, law firm where you will be part of their successful health employment team, based in Manchester.

You will be a trusted member of the Team and will work closely with the Team Partners to assist in the coordination of cases, as well as the supervision of other team members. You will have the opportunity to work as a part of a wider employment team, which currently has a national presence.

The primary aim of the role is to support health sector clients (primarily NHS) with an excellent legal advice and oversee complex employment tribunal litigation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex employment tribunal litigation.
  • Provide legal counsel to diverse healthcare clients in the NHS, primary care, and private health sectors.
  • Handle all aspects of employment law, including drafting employment documents, advising on rights, discrimination, whistleblowing, employee relations, disciplinary actions, mediation, dismissals, redundancy, TUPE, and tribunal claims.
  • Offer transactional support.
  • Cultivate and sustain client and internal relationships while adhering to operational procedures.
  • Drive business development by identifying new opportunities.
  • Contribute to the growth of the Health business group and the wider Firm through continuous improvement efforts.
  • Supervise colleagues' work and support team development through effective delegation and coaching.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven track record within an employment team.
  • Proficient in managing a caseload and delivering practical advice.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capability to prioritize tasks and thrive under pressure.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Effective team player with the capacity to work independently.
  • Adherence to guidelines and procedures.
  • Experience in client relationship management.
  • Skilled in coaching and developing colleagues.
  • Flexible approach with readiness to work outside regular office hours as needed.

Desirable:

  • Employment law experience within the health sector
  • Proven record of successful business development

Salary:

  • £60,000 - £140,000 Depending on experience
  • Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:30 (37.5 hours per week)
