Your new company

A UK-based company and part of a wider international group, this business has a solid client base and an impressive revenue-generating record with future plans for growth and expansion. The legal team, based in the North West, is looking to appoint an in-house commercial contracts solicitor to focus on commercial contracts advice, drafting and negotiating terms of agreement.

Your new role

You will report into the General Counsel to support the business on a range of legal matters including general contract management, drafting and negotiating supply agreements, providing strategic advice and making commercial decisions and managing the relationship with external lawyers where necessary. This role offers a unique proposition for career progression and growth, and you will work closely with the business, up to exec level, advising on a range of legal matters. You will also mentor and supervise trainee/paralegals in the team.

What you'll need to succeed

You will have a solid foundation in commercial contracts with experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements. You will have completed your training with a well-regarded law firm or in-house legal department and have excellent relationship-building skills in order to work effectively across the business and influence decision-making at all levels. Any experience with outsourcing agreements would be an advantage. This would suit either a commercial lawyer from a private practice background looking to move in-house or a junior legal counsel looking to expand their experience and autonomy.What you'll get in return
