Legal Counsel - Robert Walters : Job Details

Excellent opportunity for an Corporate Lawyer to join this global business, supporting their M&A activity in the UK. Please note - this is a fully remote role. The wider team are typically based in/around London and would be occasional in-person team meetings in London.

Your role as Legal Counsel will be to support an organization who aim to acquire, own and operate dominant players in their specific verticals (both public and private). The business has a very strong position across the European market and wishes to expand in the UK, supported by an M&A Lawyer on the ground here in the UK.

This is a great opportunity for an M&A Lawyer looking to transition from the private practice world to an in-house role where you can play a huge part in business growth and strategy. The role will be diverse and broad and will give you the opportunity to shape and develop the role as you progress.

The business has an international presence and is very ambitious with a continuous growth strategy.

Please note - this is a fully remote position but you would have the opportunity to meet up regularly with your M&A teams in the UK, usually in a central London location.

We're looking for an entrepreneurial individual who will join the European legal team as Legal Counsel - M&A.

As Legal Counsel you will:

* become part of the multidisciplinary M&A team to support our M&A agenda and secure our dynamic growth* function as the project leader for the legal stream, working closely with the international M&A team and local M&A Managers to pursue acquisitions across international vertical markets* manage the entire lifecycle of M&A transactions and be responsible for all legal aspects* lead and coordinate due diligence efforts for potential acquisitions, working closely with cross-functional teams, such as finance, HR, operations, and technology, to assess legal risks and opportunities* provide expert legal advice and guidance to the management team and M&A team regarding M&A-related matters, including deal structures, legal risks, and regulatory requirements

We're looking for someone with: * 4+ years' experience working in an M&A team/capacity * thorough knowledge of and extensive experience in running/overseeing M&A transactions independently, preferably within the software or technology industries* strong knowledge of corporate law, securities regulations, and M&A best practices* experienced in commercial contracting* attention to detail and a thorough understanding of legal and business risks* ability to thrive in an international, fast-paced and dynamic environment
