RTA File Handler – Minor Traumatic Brain Injury Claims

We are seeking an experienced RTA File Handler specialising in minor traumatic brain injury claims to join a leading legal services provider. This role is ideal for a compassionate, detail-oriented professional ready to manage a caseload of RTA claims and deliver high-quality legal support.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage a mixed caseload of OIC and MOJ RTA claims, focusing on maximising damages for clients.
- Identify and support vulnerable clients, ensuring all additional care is documented.
- Gather and assess medical and other evidence to establish liability and quantum.
- Liaise with approved medical experts and external agencies to ensure comprehensive case handling.
- Continuously risk assess cases and escalate where prospects fall below 51%.
- Conduct client due diligence and advise on fraud and dishonesty risks.
- Ensure timely issuance of proceedings and compliance with court directions.
- Support colleagues with file reviews and case handovers when needed.
- Instruct Counsel and attend conferences, either in person or remotely.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
- Manage your schedule and performance proactively to meet and exceed expectations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing personal injury files independently.
- Strong knowledge of CPR, relevant case law, and legislation, including the Intermediate Track Fixed Fee regime (Oct 2023).
- Excellent client care, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to build rapport with medical experts, barristers, and investigators.
- Proficiency in case management systems (e.g., VF) and MS Office.
- Organised, calm under pressure, and adaptable to changing situations.
- Team player with a growth mindset and empathy towards clients and colleagues.
