Job Description :

 We are excited to present a brand new position for my client based in West Sussex is looking for a passionate, creative and experienced Legacy Supporter Relationship Manager to join their marketing team to help support the growth of their legacy income. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining long-term relationships with legacy supporters, ensuring they feel valued and engaged with their cause. You will also work closely with our Legacy Marketing Manager and other fundraising colleagues to integrate legacy messages across communications and campaigns.

As a Legacy Supporter Relationship Manager, you will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a one-to-one legacy supporter relationship management approach, using a range of channels such as phone, email, mail, and face-to-face meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Legacy Marketing Manager to ensure clear principles and processes are in place, segmenting supporters effectively and tailoring communications according to their needs and preferences.
  • Establish a joint relationship management approach across fundraising teams, fostering collaboration with Philanthropy, Donors and other key supporters.
  • Work with the Philanthropy team to integrate legacy “asks” into donor recruitment and development strategies, identifying opportunities to inspire and cultivate potential legacy pledgers.
  • Build relationships with family members and executors of supporters who have left legacy gifts, ensuring a smooth and sensitive administration process and exploring untapped potential for further support.
  • Lead a legacy supporter events programme, collaborating across fundraising to broaden supporter engagement and stewardship, and showcase the impact of legacy giving.
  • Manage the Legacy Marketing Exec, providing guidance and support for bespoke supporter correspondence and administration tasks.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance and impact of legacy supporter relationship activities, using CRM systems and reporting tools.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant legacy marketing/supporter relationship management experience, preferably in a charity environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with supporters of all backgrounds and levels of wealth.
  • Proven relationship marketing experience, with a track record of delivering supporter-centric communications and stewardship activities that increase loyalty and retention.
  • Experience in running direct marketing programmes and campaigns, using a variety of channels and techniques.
  • Strong analytical and evaluation skills, with the ability to use CRM systems and reporting tools to monitor and measure the impact of activities and programmes of work.
