Lecturer in English and Maths - HMP The Verne - Weston College Group : Job Details

Weston College is the regional provider for the Prison Education Framework (PEF) across the South West of England and is now seeking to recruit an outstanding and highly motivated Lecturer in English and Maths at HMP The Verne.

This role is full-time, working 37 hours per week.

Day to day duties

• To deliver a high quality curriculum delivering Maths and English courses.

• Organisational and administrative work.

• Preparation, assessment and marking.

• Developing and completing ILPs and contextual statements to monitor individual learner progress.

Required skills and qualifications

• All candidates for teaching posts must possess a recognised Teaching Qualification, or be prepared to gain within the first two years of service, with the assistance of the College.

• Knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning strategies.

• Excellent team working, communication and interpersonal skills.

• Excellent computer literacy skills including an up to date knowledge of Microsoft Office.
