Job Description :

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs? Do you have experience working with pupils who have autism, ADHD, SEMH or learning difficulties? If so, this Learning Support Assistant role in Ossett could be the perfect opportunity for you.

We're working with a welcoming and supportive SEN school in Ossett that caters for pupils aged 5-16 with a range of complex needs. They are looking for dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join their team from September.

If you live in Wakefield, Bradford, Dewsbury, Normanton, Pontefract, Castleford, or other nearby areas, this school is very accessible and offers excellent opportunities for both experienced LSAs and graduates keen to gain hands-on SEN experience.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups with tailored learning plans

  • Assisting children with communication, emotional regulation, and social development

  • Helping to create a safe, structured and positive learning environment

  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and therapists to deliver personalised support

  • Encouraging independence and confidence in pupils with additional needs

What We're Looking For:
  • Experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or Behaviour Mentor (SEN experience highly valued)

  • Understanding of autism, ADHD, SEMH or learning disabilities

  • A calm, resilient and proactive approach

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills

  • Full-time availability during school hours (Mon-Fri)
