Learning Support Assistant - Prospero Teaching : Job Details

Prospero Teaching is currently working alongside a good school based in SouthWest London, to help them recruit a learning support Assistant to support SEN students.

The school is a highly successful single-sex academy for 11-19 olds, with 1800 students, of whom 400 are in their mixed Sixth Form.

The School was rated as "Good" by OFSTED at our last Inspection in May 2016 and they are very proud to be one of only two secondary schools in London (and one of only 16 secondary schools in the United Kingdom) to have been awarded the highest level of the UNICEF Rights Respecting School Award: Level 2. Job Description

To support the classroom teacher with their responsibility for the development and progress of all students, and, where working in the Special Resource Provision having a particular focus on students with a diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). To assist in the development of student's learning, the provision of care, and the management of students' behaviour under the guidance of teaching staff/senior colleagues/other professionals. To provide skilled support to named student(s) with complex physical needs.

To be considered you must meet the following criteria:

• Working with or caring for children and young people in the 11-18 age range (desirable).
• Working with or caring for young people with a range of special educational needs including where working in the PSRP, autistic spectrum conditions (desirable). Qualifications
• Level 3 qualifications of A Level or Vocational, and including GCSE passes in both English and Maths, Grade C/4 or above.
• Training in relevant learning interventions e.g. literacy or numeracy strategies (desirable).
• First aid training (desirable).
