Learning Support Assistant (SEN) - SEMH Specialist School - Stockport

Your New Job

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a specialist secondary school in Stockport as a Learning Support Assistant (SEN). Initially offered on a temporary basis, this role has strong potential to become permanent for the right candidate. You will support students aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, working in small groups to deliver tailored educational and behavioural support. This role is ideal for someone looking to make a meaningful impact in a nurturing, specialist setting. Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting pupils with complex needs including ADHD, Autism, and trauma-related behaviours.
  • Assisting in lesson delivery and therapeutic activities.
  • Promoting emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Collaborating with external agencies and internal safeguarding teams.
  • Contributing to EHCP reviews and transition planning.
