The Role & Responsibilities:
- Lead structural engineering activities within multi-discipline EPCM projects for the chemical and petrochemical industry.
- Support the procurement team in translating detailed structural steel design packages into procurement packages.
- Liaise with client engineering team to develop packages of work.
- Undertake technical bid evaluations from steel work fabricators.
- Work with steelwork fabricators to develop technical queries to the client & Principal Design Engineer.
- Represent the business in meetings with stakeholders.
- Carry out supplier quality audits at selected steel work fabrication shops.
- Responsible for ensuring the overall quality & accuracy of the steel work erection programme on site.
Required experience & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience working in a structural engineering role.
- Good knowledge of project engineering and site interfaces.
- HND / BSc / BEng / MSc in Mechanical, Civil or Structural engineering.
- Ability to lead on multiple packages of work.
- Result oriented, you will take personal accountability for results and monitor performance against project delivery objectives and UK/European Standards & Regulations.
- Able to collaborate successfully with others in pursuit of business goals, adapting quickly to different styles and roles and encouraging others to contribute.
- Able to identify any impact to the project delivery objectives and apply change management accordingly.
- Strive to continuous improvement, generating new ideas for improving performance.
- Leading on safety with ability to author and approve RAMS.
