Lead Embedded Linux Engineer

Location: Bologna, Italy (Hybrid - 1 day per week onsite)

A leading electronics technology company is seeking a Lead Embedded Linux Engineer to join their growing team. This hybrid role, based in Bologna, offers the opportunity to lead the development of cutting-edge embedded Linux solutions that interface with advanced hardware systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• As the Lead Embedded Linux Engineer, you will take technical ownership of embedded Linux software development and play a key role in shaping the architecture and implementation of Linux-based embedded systems.
• Leading the design, development, and integration of embedded Linux platforms for advanced electronic products.
• Managing and mentoring embedded software engineers, conducting code reviews, and ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Collaborating with hardware, firmware, and application teams to deliver robust and scalable embedded solutions.
• Optimising system performance, boot time, and reliability across various embedded platforms.
• Overseeing the build, testing, and deployment processes for embedded Linux software stacks.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in a lead or senior embedded Linux engineering role.
• Expertise with Linux kernel, device drivers, Yocto/OpenEmbedded, and embedded system architectures.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills and experience with cross-compilation and debugging tools.
• Familiarity with hardware interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, and network protocols.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to drive collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams.
