Lawyer - Childcare Law - Reed : Job Details

I’m recruiting for a Locum Childcare Lawyer to join a South Yorkshire local authority on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified solicitor or barrister with strong experience in public law childcare proceedings. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal advice and representation on all aspects of childcare law
• Conduct legal proceedings and advocacy in courts and tribunals
• Draft legal documents and deliver training to council staff
• Participate in duty advice rotas (office hours and out-of-hours)
• Support the authority’s statutory and strategic functions
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to service improvement

Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister
• Proven experience in childcare law and public sector legal work
• Strong advocacy and drafting skills
• Ability to travel for court appearances
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
