Lab Technician – Mechanical Testing (Fasteners)Location: WolverhamptonSalary: Up to £32,000 per annumSector: Manufacturing / Engineering – FastenersA well-established manufacturer of high-performance fasteners is currently seeking a Lab Technician to join its testing and quality department in Wolverhampton. This is a key role focused on mechanical testing, with a particular emphasis on impact testing. Experience with tensile testing is also highly desirable.Key Responsibilities:

• As the Lab Technician you will Conduct impact testing on metallic fasteners to relevant industry standards
• Perform tensile, hardness, and shear tests as required
• Record and interpret test results accurately and clearly
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment in line with quality procedures
• Support investigations into quality concerns and material performance issues
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure product integrity

Requirements:

• Lab Technician Previous experience in mechanical testing within a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Strong knowledge of impact testing procedures (e.g. Charpy or equivalent)
• Experience with tensile testing equipment and procedures is an advantage
• Ability to understand and work from technical drawings and material specifications
• Attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing and documentation
