Here at Long-Term Teachers, we are working closely with a Primary School in the BS35 area of South Gloucestershire who are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their KS1 team from September.
This school is a place where they like to make everyone feel accepted, valued and respected. They have a strong belief that schools must be a welcoming place for children, families, staff and the community.
The Role
From September, you will be joining the school as a Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil who has global delay. You will be guiding them throughout their day to day, supporting with indoor and outdoor learning as well as their social development.
The Head Teacher is looking for someone who is caring, passionate and has some experience working on a 1 to 1 previously. Someone who will be able to dive head first into the role and build a strong and trusting relationship.
You will be expected to:
Strong positive behaviour management strategies.
Work collaboratively with the Class Teacher and communicate clearly.
Be flexible and encouraging when working with this pupil.
Be adaptable with the child’s learning environment.
Communicate and observe personal and learning development.
Support children in a group setting, using objects to support and encourage learning.
