North West or Midlands

£55,000 - £65,000

Our client, a FTSE100 supplier to the retail industry now has an exciting opportunity for a Key Account Director to join their team working with major retail customers.

**Candidates will have experience managing retailer accounts – Supermarkets, High Street retailers, etc, managing a small team**

**You will be required to be on the customer site 1 / 2 times per week (Nottingham) & Head Office 1 day per week (Manchester)**

Job Purpose:

Strategically manage and develop the customer account(s) by delivering engagement and value in your role ensuring your allocated customers are receiving a service that meets and exceeds their contractual requirements. To manage multiple internal and external contacts working with your team, developing strong relationships, working proactively, with a problem solving mindset to deliver growth as well as future focus. Taking accountability and shared responsibility for delivering customer satisfaction linked to our clients value proposition. Evolving the account and ways of working internally and with the customer to ensure growth, retention and continuous improvement both commercially and to solidify engagement.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Strategically manage the customer(s) through:
  • Creation and delivery of business plans i) internal and ii) external.
  • Create and deliver customer value proposition ensuring a value-add experience for your allocated customer(s).
  • To engage with our customer and internal stakeholders to become the voice of the customer the business.
  • To deliver commercial value for our customers whilst delivering in line with contractual frameworks.

  • Focus on continuous improvement within the account seeking ways to:
  • Step on engagement and grow touch points within the customer.
  • Identify and deliver longer-term initiatives within the customer that build long-term growth and / or stickiness to provide strong foundations for future.
  • Promote and solidify the reputation of the client.

  • To identify, manage and convert opportunities into growth and profitability enhancement.
  • Line management, as applicable, ensuring support and development within the line management structure including setting of clear objectives and regular 1.2.1’s

Skills Required:

  • Self-Starter, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative, and fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Diligent and accurate with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong Written and Verbal Communication.
  • IT literate, with data analysis skills.
  • Process orientated.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven track record of relationship management with an ability to influence.
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines and delivering KPI’s or contractual requirements.
  • Proven track record of managing and delivering growth within an existing customer relationship.
  • Strong attention to detail with a drive for a positive customer experience.
  • An understanding of business planning.
  • Comfortable with the usage, presentation and analysis of data.
  • Relevant working experience ideally gained in a retail environment, preferably in similar / transferable roles
  • Line management as applicable
