Junior UI / Graphic Designer (Editorial Focus)

Location: Ashford, Kent - Hybrid Working

Salary: £25,000

We are recruiting for a leading digital solutions company based in Kent, who are looking for a Junior Graphic Designer with a strong focus on UI design and editorial-style layouts.

You will be joining a creative team that designs digital products viewed by millions of users worldwide, working across apps, Apple News content, and social media platforms.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Designing clean, engaging layouts for digital platforms (apps, mobile, web)
• Creating and refining user interface elements and templates for a large-scale app
• Producing graphics for social media, marketing campaigns, and digital content
• Checking and updating design templates for news and editorial content
• Collaborating with developers, product managers, and content teams to ensure design consistency
• Working in a fast-paced environment with lots of support and guidance

What We Are Looking For:

• A strong portfolio showcasing layout design, typography, and digital UI work (university projects welcome)
• A degree in Graphic Design, Editorial Design, Digital Design, or a related subject - or up to 1 year’s commercial experience
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop and Illustrator)
• Good experience using Figma or Adobe XD for digital design
• A strong understanding of layout principles, fonts, and responsive design
• Editorial design experience (magazine, brochure, news layouts) would be a real bonus
• Ability to pick things up quickly, stay organised, and work collaboratively in a busy environment
