A growing manufacturing business is searching for a Technical Assistant in the greater Wimbledon area. This role will also cover several sites across Kent, from Sittingbourne to Maidstone and also Wimbledon as well.Your RoleWhile in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:
- Supporting the Technical Director, Head of Technical and Technical Managers in upholding product safety, quality, legality and integrity across the supply base
- Assisting in the delivery of ESG strategies, including human rights, sustainability, and environmental objectives, in collaboration with the Responsible Sourcing and Compliance teams
- Providing outstanding customer service and communication, including regular updates on technical performance indicators, KPIs, complaint trends, depot inspections, and benchmarking data
- Coordinating supplier and customer visits, issuing visit reports and agreed actions to internal and external stakeholders
- Preparing and presenting supplier and category data such as crop reports, supplier reviews and insights for regular customer meetings, ad hoc projects, and strategic planning
- Maintaining and updating technical document libraries and customer platforms to ensure accurate and timely technical information is available
- Working with Product Management and Technical Assistants to manage day-to-day quality issues, compile weekly quality summaries (QSL, KPIs), and support resolution
- Conducting stock and shelf-life reviews across sites to assess product performance and ensure alignment with quality expectations
- Contributing to internal and external KPI reporting, audits (including agent and supplier food safety audits), and compliance with policies and standards
- Supporting the implementation of policy and standard changes across the supply base and packing site
- Delivering analysis and action plans for both customer and supplier-facing technical requirements
- Building strong supplier relationships, facilitating regular dialogue, site visits, quality improvement plans and innovation initiatives
- Contributing to packaging innovation and reduction targets, supporting cross-functional teams with trials, samples, and tracker maintenance
- Assessing supply base resilience across regions and products, proposing and supporting alternative sourcing solutions where required

- Strong experience working in a Technical Assistant capacity
- Previous experience handling auditing
- Good ERP systems knowledge
- Exposure to the food manufacturing and production sector
- Excellent data analysis and management skills, including report writing
- Strong communication skills, both in written and verbal form and comfortable with communicating with internal and external stakeholders
