Junior Management AccountantPermanent, full timeHybrid Derby (3 days a week in the office)Up to £30,000 plus benefitsAbout the roleWe are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Financial Accountants to support our Finance team with the preparation and reporting of financial data, playing a key role in audit readiness, statistical returns and regulatory compliance. Working closely with the Senior Financial Accountant, you’ll ensure accurate data is delivered on time to both internal and external stakeholders, while supporting broader finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to audit requests, including assembling supporting documentation, performing reconciliations and liaising with stakeholders to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare and verify financial data for submission to the Office for National Statistics (ONS) and other external bodies.
  • Assist with the preparation of month-end and year-end accounts, including journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Maintain accurate working papers and evidence files for audit and regulatory review.
  • Ensure financial records are kept up to date and compliant with internal policies.
  • Collaborate with finance colleagues on ad hoc analysis, reporting and process improvements.

About You

  • You are likely part qualified, studying towards your ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualification – we’ll support you to complete your remaining exams.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting processes
  • Confident working with large volumes of data and producing accurate statistical summaries.
  • Strong attention to detail with a structured, logical approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Experience using financial systems or ERPs
  • A great team player with strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset
  • Eager to learn, with a flexible approach to managing multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude
