Junior Finance Assistant 

Cambridge (hybrid)

£25,000 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen with a leading Cambridge based technology company who are looking for a career motivated individual with a genuine interest in pursuing a career in accounting, to join them on a permanent basis, in the role of Finance Assistant.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will include the following:

• Update the banking spreadsheet each morning and send a breakdown to management.
• Reconcile customer accounts in the financial system.
• Contact customers via phone and email to ensure payments are made within payment terms.
• Resolving customer’s account queries in a timely manner.
• Keep the finance system up to date with debtors’ notes.
• Post all the AR cash and ensure the debtors ledger is tidy.
• Work with the rest of the finance team on other tasks such as review employee expenses to ensure they are in line with company policy and post these on the accounting system.

This client is looking for either a recent graduate looking for a first accounting position, or somebody with some existing office experience, looking to take a change of direction.

Candidates should have a good standard of education, a good level of IT capability (intermediate ability with Word and Excel), as well as the ability to work well in a team, excellent communication skills, and a mature and professional attitude.

This company is based on Station Road in Cambridge with no on-site parking provided. You will have the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis (2 days from home) once established, and on a flexible basis. Those wishing to study for an accounting qualification will also be provided with full support.
