Role summary:

As a Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing high-quality technology solutions to the business. You will manage complex projects and work-packages concurrently, developing accurate plans to enable the overall delivery of projects.

You will be responsible for all aspects of the technical project management lifecycle, from project inception through to transition to live and an operational handover. You will monitor delivery at all stages and manage risks and issues.  

You will be responsible for:

• Designing and implementing projects, with a particular focus on Agile
• Leading multidisciplinary teams
• Managing the entire project management lifecycle
• Ensuring successful delivery of projects from inception to implementation and operational handover

Duties:

• Deliver IT projects using technical project delivery best practice, particularly Agile methodologies.
• Work with senior stakeholders, external implementation partners and project team to define the project plan and related tasks.
• Lead and facilitate ongoing planning and prioritisation, owning the plan for the full lifecycle of the project and ensuring its effective delivery.
• Manage resources and stakeholders to achieve project objectives to time, quality and to the agreed budget.
• Produce relevant documentation to effectively manage projects
• Manage risks and issues at the appropriate level
• Work with the project team on the solution of problems on behalf of the user, liaising with other members of IT Services, other departments and external suppliers
• Produce the required documentation to effectively manage projects
• Proactively anticipate, identify, and manage risks and issues to project delivery, assess mitigations and recommend a course of action to the Project Board and Head of Project Delivery.

Skills sought:

• Substantial project management experience delivering technical solutions 
• Substantial experience delivering projects and products using effective project management methods, particularly Agile
• Experience of managing multidisciplinary teams and stakeholder management 
• Knowledge of IT application development and technology-driven project delivery 
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and deal with ambiguity 
• Good financial management of project budgets and reporting
