Overview: We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as an apprentice. 

The apprentice’s primary role is to provide excellent customer service and support to internal and external customers, by using tools or systems to problem solve and trouble-shoot routine and non-routine IT related problems. 

Required to monitor and maintain systems and/or platforms to maximise productivity and user experience. 

This role is suited to someone with a keen interest in computers and networks, looking to develop their technical knowledge and gain valuable experience working as part of a team.

Main Role & Responsibilities: 

  • You will start off with simpler tasks, such as basic support calls for example troubleshooting issues with laptops, monitors, printers etc. But as time goes by, will undertake more complex tasks and will be set independent work to complete, which will be checked by senior staff. 
  • Answering the telephone, responding to emails and updating requests. 
  • Provide first line analysis of all IT issues and ensure that SLA’s are met. 
  • Keep customers informed of the status and progress of tasks and update tickets. 
  • Complete other service-related tasks as required by your manager. 
  • Attend all learning events and complete all apprenticeship assignments to a good standard, and on-time. 

Duties also include installation of software and hardware and supporting business critical systems, operating system, applications, databases desktops, peripherals and infrastructure network & telephone systems.

What we are looking for: Desired personal specification:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills 
  • You will have good general IT skills and an interest in technology 
  • Reliable and disciplined 
  • You will be team spirited but also be able to work on your own 
  • Can demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic, committed and flexible attitude towards work, team member, colleagues and other persons 
  • Good attention to detail 
  • Keen to learn and progress technical skills 

Entry requirements:

  • 3 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Scope: 

  • The role is primarily desk based.
  • Occasional travel to customer sites for install/fault resolution.
  • Ensuring commitment to core values, working in line with ‘best practice’ ensuring compliance to relevant policies.
  • To maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Required to develop a good working knowledge of technical products and services.

Working week:8am-5pm, Monday to Friday (this may differ depending if we are working on a project).
