IT Applications & Business Systems Manager
Location: Hybrid – 2 days per week in Gloucester
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 + benefits
A well-established organisation is hiring an IT Applications & Business Systems Manager to lead support and service delivery across a suite of core business applications.
This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for the performance, stability and improvement of multiple line-of-business systems. You’ll act as the key contact between users, internal IT teams and suppliers, owning incidents, changes, and enhancements from initiation through to resolution.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead the application support function for key business systems
- Act as the point of contact for service issues, escalations, and change requests
- Monitor performance, availability and usage across core applications
- Ensure support and change activity aligns with business objectives and user needs
- Manage third-party suppliers and licensing agreements
- Own ITIL-aligned processes including incident, problem, and release management
- Develop SLAs, service metrics and improvement plans
- Contribute to system upgrades, integrations and testing activities
- Engage business users to drive adoption, training, and feedback loops
Essential experience:
- Track record supporting enterprise applications within a service-led IT function
- ITIL v3 or v4 knowledge—able to implement process improvements and manage service levels
- Experience managing internal and supplier-led application support teams
- Able to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong organisational and analytical skills
Desirable:
- Experience supporting business-critical systems such as ERP, CRM, or CAD
- Understanding of data protection, security and system compliance
- Familiarity with project delivery methods (Agile or Waterfall)
