Independent Reviewing Officer

NonStop Care is currently working with a well established authority in the East of England who are looking for a Independent Reviewing Officer/ CP Chair to join their service in their safeguarding and Reviewing Team. As the Child Protection Conference Chair, you will be key to our cared for children and those in need of protection, achieving success, feeling safe and enjoying their lives.

Requirements:

This is a rare opportunity for a forward-thinking individual to join the Quality and Practice service. The role will involve chairing child protection conferences and LADO. To be successful in this post, you will need to have a broad knowledge of statutory children social work working with children in need of protection, as your experience and expertise will be key for driving improved outcomes for the children of our City.

You must be able to chair face-to-face meetings at the Civic Centre and be office based 3 days a week.

  • A minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in a related field.
  • Experience of all service user groups and with users from ethnic minorities.
  • Experience of residential and family placement services
  • Knowledge and experience of the systems for children in care and be professionally confident and competent in challenging standards of care and practice
  • Registration with Social Work England
  • Excellent report writing skills/assessment skills
  • Significant IRO experience
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Professional references
