Job Description :
Summary ***Internal Applications Only, Please***We want to encourage more people to get involved in protecting nature, history and beauty, to support our organisational priorities of welcoming everyone and taking action to prevent climate change.  The aim of the Involvement team is to help inspire and support volunteers, communities and supporter groups. We look for ways to make their experiences with the National Trust as positive, flexible and welcoming as possible.  The Involvement Co-ordinator is a new, permanent role, which will work across the Involvement team and alongside local, regional and central teams.  What it's like to work here There are already great examples of volunteering, community engagement and supporter involvement all over the Trust but not everyone is aware. We want to connect people, share learning, scale up great ideas and demonstrate mutual benefit.   We’ve got a clear plan to support the organisation to get more people involved – and we need more co-ordination and project support, someone to help manage systems and processes, and monitor the impact of our work more effectively.   Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview. What you'll be doing This is a new role so there will be scope to create new processes and resources and proactively implement new, more efficient, ways of working. We have lots of feedback available to use, to help us make informed decisions and prioritise things that will make the biggest difference to our volunteers, communities and supporters.  We also have a growing job family of over 150 people so helping connect people with each other, share best practice and being a consistent point of contact are key elements of this role. Throughout the year we are leading or supporting a variety of projects. You’ll have the opportunity to be actively involved in these as well as co-ordinating our overall involvement project plan. You’ll support the needs of volunteers, communities and supporters, and other key stakeholders as well as linking up with external stakeholders to share best practice. Who we're looking for You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don't need to have all the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what is possible in this role.  We’d love to hear from you if you have: •             Experience or an interest in people, volunteering, partnership working or community engagement - and the ability to communicate and build strong working relationships. •             Co-ordination, organisation and planning skills and can proactively manage a varied workload. •             Experience of supporting projects and co-ordinating multiple pieces of work. •             Data management skills, with strong IT and digital skills.  •             Experience of writing communications and creating clear, helpful resources. •             Flexible attitude and positive approach to change. Along with your CV please included a covering letter of no more than 500 words, which talks about why you’re interested in the position and how your skills/experience are relevant to this role.
