Investment Operations Analyst - Resource Solutions : Job Details

Job Title: Investment Operations Analyst Location: London (Hybrid)Role Objective:The role reports to the Group Investments Head of Accounting and Operations and is responsible for the investment operations working alongside the investment team and the external investment manager operations. Working closely with colleagues in other departments related to various restricted asset pools as well as external stakeholders including custodians, investment managers and auditors. Ensure the accurate transfer of assets (securities and cash) so that the company meets its contractual and regulatory reporting requirements.Our Aspen Values are expected to be reflected in the delivery and performance of every roleKey Responsibilities:Strategy & Planning:

• Contributes to and monitors the plan developments and changes in order to ensure relevancy, compliance and optimal delivery
• Assists in the preparation and implementation of the operational team plans to ensure these are in line with wider business strategy and reflect key priorities
• Develops and implements procedures, workflows and service standards in accordance with growth and business requirements
• Periodically evaluates business processes and workflows for efficiency

Policy, Process and Procedures:

• Assist SVP of department with related operational activities with impact on policies, procedures, budget planning, forecast and results monitoring
• Responsible for reporting and maintaining all custody accounts, portfolio accounts and transferring cash and securities as required
• Work with the custodians to ensure the accurate safekeeping and reporting of assets for each legal entity
• Monitor and manage the collateral and daily margin calls for liquidity facilities including repos
• Report and maintain restricted assets related to different aspects of the insurance business
• Report the investment holdings across fixed income, equities, alternatives, derivatives and cash for legal entities
• Maintain a register of custody accounts and portfolio accounts
• Liaise with counterparties, custodians, external investment managers, investment banks, and accountants to ensure any issues are resolved in a timely manner

Environmental Awareness/Customer Focus:

• Assist with various aspects of investment reporting including the month end process to meet reporting deadlines
• Assist with internal and external audit queries to ensure smooth audit review process
• Assist with projects relating to the improvement of processes and other strategic initiatives

Technical Performance:

• Understanding of asset classes particularly credit and derivatives
• Liaison for the department in troubleshooting and reconciling processing issues
• Maintain and operate the electronic system used for transferring securities, payments and reporting holdings with the custodians

Requirements & Skills:

• Relevant degree / qualification
• Experience in Investment Operations
• More than ten years insurance industry and management experience
• Experience working with US markets
• Management of staff, resources, mid-level reporting, projects, workflows and procedures
• Self-management skills - dependable conscientious, motivated, productive, resourceful, problem solver, organized and efficient
