Internal Auditor - Service Care Solutions - Healthcare : Job Details

Service Care Solutions are working alongside a local authority in Flintshire, who are looking to recruit a Senior Auditor on a short-term contract. Please find the JD below.Role: Senior AuditorRate: £19.66 to £22.47 per hour (PAYE exc.) / £21.88 to £25.11 per hour (Umbrella/Ltd)Location: FlintshireWorking: Hybrid, 37 hrs per weekContract: 6 weeks Role Overview:

• Deliver risk-based, systems, regulatory, and advisory audits in line with the Strategic Audit Plan.
• Plan and manage audits independently from initial contact to final report.
• Identify objectives, risks, controls, and develop testing strategies.
• Analyse financial and non-financial data; document findings using audit software (including CAATs where applicable).
• Provide practical advice on internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Support policy development and contribute to working groups and task-based initiatives.
• Communicate findings clearly to senior management and external clients; negotiate actions and timelines.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct proactive and reactive fraud investigations.
• Represent the Authority in disciplinary hearings, court proceedings, and external audit forums.
• Ensure all work complies with CIPFA and Chartered IIA professional standards and ethics.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge and complete ongoing CPD requirements.
• Deputise for Principal Auditors as needed and contribute to continuous service improvement.
