Morgan McKinley Northern Home Counties is proud to be working in partnership with a growing FMCG business in Northampton to recruit an Interim Transactional Finance Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on, dynamic finance professional to lead a small transactional finance team, ensuring the smooth running of sales and purchase ledger processes, supporting month-end activities, and driving continuous improvement across the finance function during a transitional period.

Role

Responsibilities will include:

* Lead and mentor a small team of finance assistants to ensure accuracy and efficiency across all transactional finance activities

* Oversee sales and purchase ledger processes, including invoice processing, payment runs, and reconciliations

* Ensure month-end close is completed accurately and on time, working closely with the Management Accountant and Finance Manager

* Support revenue recognition and reconcile transactions through NetSuite and other integrated systems

* Manage supplier accounts and payments across multiple international entities and currencies

* Monitor foreign currency requirements and support cash flow forecasting

* Attend debtor meetings and assist with credit control, including escalation of client queries and debt collection where required

* Assist with statutory audit preparation and ensure timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations

* Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and team training initiatives

Profile

* Minimum 3 years' experience in a team leadership or supervisory finance role, ideally within a multi-entity or FMCG environment

* Strong working knowledge of NetSuite or similar ERP systems

* Experience managing multi-currency transactions

* Excellent understanding of sales and purchase ledger functions

* Confident people manager with ability to lead, motivate, and develop a small team

* Hands-on, proactive, and process-driven

* Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills

* Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills and strong attention to detail

Salary & Benefits

Salary range of £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, plus hybrid working flexibility. Immediate or short-notice availability is essential.
