Communicate are partnering with a well-established, multi-site, real estate company to recruit an Interim Senior Group Accountant. This is a high-profile position within the finance function, responsible for overseeing the financial reporting of subsidiary companies. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that financial data is accurate, billing is timely and correct, and robust controls are maintained throughout the reporting process.

This opportunity would suit a qualified accountant (ACA/CA) with strong technical accounting skills who is keen to gain valuable experience in a complex, multi-entity business operating across both commercial and residential sectors. You’ll be working closely with senior finance and operational stakeholders, gaining exposure to both the technical and commercial aspects of the industry.

Key responsibilities:

• Ownership of financial reporting for multiple entities
• Lead the quarterly close process, delivering results to operational management, group finance and commercial teams
• Oversee accurate tenant billing and ensure all charges reconcile fully to the general ledger
• Maintain and improve financial controls, including balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
• Enhance management reporting packs to deliver meaningful performance analysis to operational leaders
• Partner with budget holders throughout the year to review actuals against budget and support annual budget-setting processes
• Manage, train, and develop one direct report
• Contribute to finance systems enhancements, focusing on efficiency, automation and embedding best-practice

You’ll need:

• ACA/CA qualification
• Proven technical accounting and reporting experience
• Strong controls, reconciliation and audit background
• Confidence working cross-functionally within a fast paced environment
• Immediate or short notice availability
