Your new companyThis NHS client is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to drive the development and delivery of the Trust's financial recovery plan and productivity improvement programmes, ensuring a sustainable financial future.
Your new roleYou will lead the Programme Support Office, providing the structure, process, and critical challenge necessary to deliver complex and ambitious annual efficiency targets. A key aspect of the role involves championing an analytical approach to productivity, particularly through service-level reporting. You will also lead the tactical management of the Trust's clinical contracts and income streams with ICBs, NHS England, and other Trusts, including co-leading annual contract negotiations. You will ensure timely, accurate income reporting to support informed decision-making across services. This role requires extensive collaboration with senior managers, clinical and associate directors, both internally and externally, to ensure service changes are financially and contractually sound. Additionally, you will oversee the resolution of contract disputes and assess the impact of emerging strategic issues, working closely with the Head of Financial Strategy & Business Development to ensure income assumptions are robust across all business cases. You will also manage a team providing leadership on key operational and strategic issues. Monitor and regularly review the performance of the team from an internal and customer perspective, ensuring corporate governance compliance and best practice.
What you'll need to succeedYou will be an ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA qualified accountant and have led significant change or service improvement initiatives and successfully delivered cost-improvement programmes within complex organisations. You will demonstrate a deep understanding of working across diverse cultural settings, with tangible examples of fostering collaboration and enhancing inter-team working practices. A comprehensive knowledge of the current NHS financial regime is essential, including expertise in Payment by Results and Contracting, as well as a strong grasp of the evolving NHS financial landscape.
What you'll get in returnThis role is mainly remote with the need to attend the occasional meeting in Eastbourne. It is an interim assignment initially for 3 months with the view it will be extended.
